Marc Anciel, known as Rooster Bold is a character of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir. In season 4, he receives the Rooster Miraculous from Ladybug, which, when inhabited by the Orikko, can transform him into Rooster Bold, a rooster-themed superhero.
He was voiced by Kyle McCarley for Seasons 2-3 and later currently Alejandro Saab for Season 4 onwards.
Appearance
Physical appearance
Marc is at average height and has a somewhat feminine appearance, with messy black hair, jade green eyes, thick eyebrows, pink lips, and a slender face with a pointed chin.
Civilian attire
He wears a red hooded jacket with white drawstrings and a white section on the back of the hood, lined with pink material. Underneath he wears a V-neck tie-dye shirt. He also appears to wear black fingerless gloves, ripped dark grey jeans with silver studs along the pockets and around the waist with a silver buckle, and black boots. His nails are painted black and he has a black choker around his neck.
As Reverser
Reverser is in a checkerboard patterned outfit. The left side of the outfit has solid black markings, like on the upper head, arm, fingers, chest, torso, and leg. On the right side, the lower head, palm, teeth and half of a circle on the chest are black. Reverser's weapons are small black and white paper airplanes that can reverse the abilities or the personality of the person who is hit. He rides on a large paper hoverboard.
As Rooster Bold
Rooster Bold wears a midnight black (with a slight blue-ish tint) skin-tight outfit which is covered by a fire red tail coat with a midnight black and multiple long feather-like tails going down from around his waist. The coat has golden accents and darker feather-shaped sections out the middle. He has a short red necktie and his golden boots resemble rooster legs, with spurs included. He wears little over-hanging plain red mask covering his eyes. His hair is black, shaved with three big red strands that resemble a rooster's comb.
Personality
Like Juleka, Marc is very shy and nervous around others. This is shown when Marinette pulls Marc into the art room to introduce him to everyone. He is also quite shy in front of his first friend at the school, Marinette, refusing to show her his stories. He likes to write stories (particularly about Ladybug and Nathaniel) but is sheepish and self-conscious when people read them. When he runs away in embarrassment out of the art room, he runs into a pillar and drops his notebook and Marinette picks it up and reads it. When she hands the notebook back to him later on, Marc immediately turns red. Like Marinette, he is sweet and kind but also quite clumsy, especially when around someone he has feelings for.
As Rooster Bold, he gets the confidence he needs to show off his abilities and use them to better help his team.
As Reverser, he is demanding and clever, realizing that Ladybug's graceful agility made her difficult to strike. He endangered civilians in order to make Ladybug an easy target when she went to help the affected cyclist. He is also confident, leaning on a bit overconfident. After he struck Ladybug and Cat Noir with his airplanes, he sees the heroes as harmless and believed he had time to obtain his revenge on Nathaniel and Marinette before dealing with them. He is also cruel, reversing anyone even those who haven't done anything to him, like with making the art club hate art and music, and making André Bourgeois send the dumpsters that were in space back to Paris. He does sympathize those who are mistreated, like with what happened between him and Nathaniel, as he saw how Chloé treated Sabrina like a slave so he struck both of them to make Chloé tend to Sabrina instead.
Powers and abilities
Civilian abilities
Marc is an excellent creative story writer. His Ladybug stories, based on Nathaniel's drawings, impress Marinette (the real Ladybug) so much that she pushes him to work with Nathaniel to make the Ladybug/Mighty Illustrator comic. Since the two of them complete the comic, it is implied that Marc's writing skills are strong enough for him to write well in script style as well as in short story style. He is also shown to be quite good at soccer.
Miraculous abilities
Rooster Bold has enhanced speed, strength, endurance and agility. If Rooster Bold says Sublimation, he activates his power, which is the ability to add another super ability to anything he is doing, whether it is an enhanced ability, or an actual superpower. However, he can only get one superpower per transformation and can only use it once.
Akumatized abilities
Reverser
Reserver has enhanced physical characteristics: speed, agility and strength. Reverser rides on a large paper hoverboard, which has the ability to fly around at will. He can also make small black and white paper airplanes with the ability to reverse the abilities or a personality trait to its opposite, by calling out what trait he wishes to reverse. Notable examples are when he made Ladybug become extremely clumsy after hitting her with a paper plane, or when he made Cat Noir a coward. This can also affect specific actions, as Reverser was able to make André Bourgeois bring the trash containers in space back to Earth.
History
Season 2
In "Frightningale", Marc participated in Clara Nightingale's music video as one of the dancers.
In "Frozer", Marc was seen sitting with Nathaniel in the school's courtyard.
In "Reverser", Marc was under the stairs with his notebook, writing an installment called "Diary of Ladybug" and using Natheniel's art as inspiration. Then, he was found by Marinette who encouraged him to share his idea with everyone in art class. Marc went to the art club and met some of the members but was drawn to Nathaniel and his art. He soon rushed out of the class but didn't notice he dropped his writing journal. To his embarrassment, Marinette had read the journal and suggested Marc show his work to Nathaniel with the idea of the two teaming up to make a Ladybug comic book. However, Marc was hesitant to do so out of fear of Nathaniel not liking his writing and he would then have to avoid the artist.
He agreed to let her show Nathaniel his writings while not informing Nathaniel who wrote them so he would give it a chance. Unfortunately, Nathaniel thought the book was actually written by Ladybug and became angry at Marc at thinking he and Marinette were playing a prank on him and destroyed Marc's writings. Devastated, Marc became so upset that Hawk Moth was able to akumatize him into Reverser, a villain determined to get revenge on Marinette and change Nathaniel so he would agree to make a comic with him.
After Marc was deakumatized, he and Nathaniel cleared up the misunderstanding and started to make a comic book together and, in the end, became boyfriends.
In "Mayura", he participated in the battle against the akumatized army. After Scarlet Moth is defeated, he attends the picnic organized by Marinette and is seen sitting next to Nathaniel.
Season 3
In "Gamer 2.0", like everyone else, he was asked by Max to test out his new game, but Marc declined his offer as he and Nathaniel were working on their latest comic with a deadline approaching. They were both captured by Gamer 2.0 as characters in his game. Reverser appears again as the final character Gamer 2.0 changes into. After Ladybug managed to defeat him, Marc and everyone were set free.
In "Party Crasher", Marc and Nathaniel are spotted by Marinette entering the Agreste estate despite an earlier text message to Alix claiming they were working on gaining back lost work for their latest comic. They are greeted by their friends inside and join in the guys only party until Party Crasher arrives. During the chaos, Marc is momentarily shown to have been captured by Party Crasher until King Monkey freed them.
In "Félix", Marc is seen with Nathaniel and Alix as everyone is planning to send Adrien videos in the hope of comforting him on the day of his mother vanishing.
In "Miracle Queen", Marc is seen sitting with Nathaniel among other couples.
Season 4
In "Penalteam", Ladybug gives Marc the Rooster Miraculous in order to help defeat Chloé. He meets Orikko, the rooster kwami, and transforms into Rooster Bold for the first time.
Season 5
In "Jubilation", Rooster Bold is among the superheroes attending Ladybug and Cat Noir's wedding in the dream caused by Gift when they are fighting Darker Owl in reality.
In "Determination", to try and help restore morale to Paris because of losing Rooster Bold and the other heroes, Grevin Museum curator Veronique has a wax figurine of Rooster Bold made, alongside those of the rest of the team, in hopes of helping to boost hope. When Mayor Bourgeois, under Chloe's influence again, refuses to let the figures be displayed, Veronique is akumatized by Monarch into Manipula, bringing the wax figures of Rooster Bold and the others to life to try and make Manipula look like a hero by bringing the team back.
In the season finale, "The Final Day", Marc is part of the Resistance as they fight against the Miraculized as part of Monarch's Operation Perfect Alliance, joined by Grandmaster Su-Han and the Guardians, the United Heroez, and Ladydragon, but it is a losing fight as the Miraculized keep coming. It is only, as shown in "Miraculous London", when Ladybug uses her Miraculous Ladybug to undo all the damage, that Marc and everyone else are saved as the Miraculized are returned to normal. He later learns that Gabriel Agreste sacrificed himself to end the threat of Monarch for good. After Marinette restores the Miraculous to their original forms, she entrusts Orikko to Marc permanently, allowing Marc to become Rooster Bold again and join the rest of the restored French Miraculous superhero team to prepare for whatever threats come from the new Hawk Moth in Lila Rossi/Cerise Bianca.
Season 6
In "Revelator", Marc is seen with the other Miraculous holders trying to evolve their powers to be able to use them as long as he wants. He is seen successfully achieving this goal and obtaining a new costume appearance.

- Marc Anciel is the fourteenth person to become a Miraculous holder who was also an Akumatized villain, following Nino Lahiffe in "The Bubbler", Alya Césaire in "Lady Wifi", Nathaniel Kurtzberg in "The Evillustrator", Lê Chiến Kim in "Dark Cupid", Mylène Haprèle in "Horrificator", Alix Kubdel in "Timebreaker", Max Kanté in "Gamer", Sabrina Raincomprix and Chloé Bourgeois in "Antibug", Rose Lavillant in "Princess Fragrance", Kagami Tsurugi in "Riposte", Luka Couffaine in "Silencer", Zoé Lee in "Sole Crusher", Juleka Couffaine in "Reflekta", but excluding Gabriel Agreste/Hawk Moth, who akumatized himself in "The Collector" into the titular villain.
