„
~ Funky Kong, Donkey Kong Country.
Funky Kong is one of the Kongs and also a major character from the Donkey Kong series. He is a laid back, fun-loving surfer with attitude who runs Funky's Flights along with many other businesses. While he usually loathes adventuring (due to his laid-back lifestyle), Funky is happy to lend the other Kongs a hand from the sidelines.
Funky Kong makes his debut in this game. He can be found at Funky's Flights and will allow the Kongs to use his Jumbo Barrel to explore different parts of Donkey Kong Island. In the Gameboy Advance version of the game, Funky Kong also has a fishing mini-game for the other Kongs to try. If they beat his high score, they will receive an award.
Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest/Donkey Kong Land II
Funky reappears to assist Diddy and Dixie Kong on the adventure to save Donkey Kong. The pair can visit Funky's Flights II where they can use Funky's Biplane Barrel (for a small fee) and travel to locations found on Crocodile Island.
Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble
Funky returns with more vital roles this time round. Dixie Kong finds him in his garage during her search for Donkey and Diddy Kong. He reveals to her that he has been taking care of her infant cousin Kiddy Kong and lets Dixie watch him for a while. Funky also lets the pair use his motorboat to traverse the Northern Kremisphere and will build more vehicles if they can bring him certain materials. After collecting all Hero Coins in the game, Funky will then build a gyrocopter to explore the map with.
Donkey Kong 64
In this game, Funky Kong has opened up an armory where the Kongs can purchase wooden firearms, fruit-based ammunition upgrades, and other equipment for the right prices. He also appeared after the final boss battle, using a special gun with a boot projectile to launch a distracted K. Rool off Donkey Kong Island.
DK: King of Swing
Funky Kong is playable in both Jungle Jam modes. He excels in attack but lacks in jumping.
DK: Jungle Climber

Funky Kong is one of the unlockable playable characters in Donkey Kong Barrel Blast (or Donkey Kong Jet Race in PAL regions). He is unlocked after the player beats the Diamond Cup with a Kong. His rival is Kludge, one of the Kremling racers.
Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze
Funky Kong runs a store called Funky's Fly N' Buy where the other Kongs can purchase various items to use on their adventure. In the Nintendo Switch version of the video game, Funky becomes a playable character and can use his surfboard to pull off many different maneuvers. Meanwhile, a parrot named Tawks runs the Fly N' Buy shop in Funky's stead.
Donkey Kong Bananza
Funky Kong does not make a physical appearance but surfboards that resemble the ones Funky has in DKC and Tropical Freeze can be found on Donkey Kong Island in the Emerald Rush DLC. The surfboards are indestructible but can only be ridden on water.
