Hey! She's not some girlǃ She's a woman in high school, and she loves trees, and I'm gonna get her one.

~ Ted to The Once-Ler.
“
I am Ted Wiggins, and I speak for the trees. And the fact is, things aren't perfect here in Thneedville! And they're only gonna get worse unless we do something about it! Unless we change our ways. And we can start by planting this!
„
~ Ted to the people of Thneedville, and his most famous quote.
Theodore "Ted" Wiggins is the main protagonist of Illumination's 3rd full-length animated feature film The Lorax, which is based on Dr. Seuss's 1971 children picture book of the same name.
He is an idealistic 12-year-old boy who intends to find the one thing that will win the affection of Audrey, the girl of his dreams, where it would also later involve making their fellow citizens of Thneedville change their minds about their reliance on Aloysius O'Hare's oxygen business for their survival.
He was voiced by Zac Efron, who also played Troy Bolton from the High School Musical film series, Link Larkin in Hairspray, Young Mike O'Donnell in 17 Again, Matt Brody in Baywatch, and Phillip Carlyle in The Greatest Showman and voices Fred Jones from Scoob!.
Ted is 4 foot and 6 inches (137cm). He’s a 12-year old boy and he wears an orange t-shirt with red stripes with gray long sleeves and he wears blue jeans combined with black high top sneakers with a labeling that says Gru's shoes and has a picture of a Minion with white laces and a black upper. He also wears goggles around his neck. He has black hair and brown eyes.
Biography
12-year-old boy Ted Wiggins lives in Thneedville, a walled city where everything is artificial, with no living plants. Ted has a crush on his next-door neighbor Audrey, and decides to impress her with a “real tree”. His Grammy Norma tells him the legend of the Once-Ler, who knows what happened to the trees. Leaving Thneedville in search of the Once-Ler, Ted discovers that the outside world is a barren, contaminated wasteland. He finds the Once-Ler, who agrees to tell him the story of the trees over multiple visits. Returning home, Ted encounters Thneedville's greedy mayor, Aloysius O'Hare, whose company sells bottled oxygen to the polluted city. Explaining that trees, and the oxygen they produce freely, pose a threat to his business, O'Hare pressures Ted to stay in town, but Ted continues to visit the Once-Ler.
After telling his story, The Once-Ler gives Ted the last Truffula seed in hopes he can regrow the forest and make others care about tree. His motivations shifting from simply impressing Audrey to genuine care for the trees, Ted returns home to plant the seed, which is spotted by O'Hare's city-wide surveillance. Enlisting the help of Audrey and his family, Ted is pursued by O'Hare to the center of town. O'Hare rallies the citizens against Ted, telling them that trees are dangerous and filthy, but Ted uses an earthmover to knock down a section of the city wall, revealing the environmental destruction outside. Inspired by Ted's conviction, the crowd turns on O'Hare and the seed is finally planted.
Time passes and the land begins to recover; new trees sprout, animals return and the now-elderly Once-Ler reunites with the Lorax.
Trivia
Due to his book counterpart not having a name for himself, Ted is named after Dr. Seuss himself, whose full name is Theodor Seuss Geisel.
Ted Wiggins is the second human protagonist in an Illumination film, after Gru from Despicable Me.
Ted's father is unknown, though he could be possibly divorced from his wife.
